Community Sparks Change provides supportive, structured and engaging Alternative Provision for children and young people who may need additional support outside of the traditional classroom environment.
Our approach combines mentoring, sport, enrichment, emotional support and personal development to help young people build confidence, improve behaviour, develop positive relationships and re-engage with learning.
We understand that some young people may struggle in mainstream education due to a range of challenges, including behaviour, confidence, attendance, social and emotional needs, SEND, family circumstances or difficulties managing the school environment.
Our Alternative Provision offer gives young people a safe, positive and consistent space where they can feel understood, supported and encouraged to make progress.
We focus on building trust, routine, confidence and motivation.
Our Alternative Provision can include:
We take a relationship-based approach. This means we focus on understanding each young person, building trust and creating a plan that supports their needs.
Our sessions are designed to be practical, active and engaging, helping young people learn through positive experiences rather than pressure.
We aim to help young people:

Community Sparks Change works with schools, local authorities, community organisations and families to provide targeted support for young people.
We can work alongside existing school support plans, pastoral teams, SEN teams and safeguarding leads to ensure each young person receives appropriate and consistent support.
Our provision can be delivered in schools, community venues or agreed local settings, depending on the needs of the young person and the referring organisation.
Safeguarding is central to everything we do.
Our staff and volunteers follow safeguarding procedures, safer working practices and appropriate reporting processes. We work in partnership with schools, parents, carers and professionals to help keep young people safe.
We aim to create an environment that is respectful, inclusive, structured and supportive.
Schools, local authorities, parents, carers and partner organisations can contact Community Sparks Change to discuss Alternative Provision support.
We are happy to have an initial conversation about the young person’s needs, the type of support required and how we may be able to help.
